Mr. P.U Thomas began his career as an Attender at Medical College Hospital, Kottayam in 1970.He witnessed the sufferings of the poor patients who came for treatment from far away places. From his meagre amount of the salary as a temporary employee he set aside a sum of money for medicine and food for the poor patients. Later in 1980 he was permanently appointed and hence it was easy for him to expand his life long desire to do something for the poor and abandoned patients.
